IdeaMarketers provides some sobering, but accurate commentary in the Seven Deadly Small Business Myths.

LogoDesignWorks.com has a great piece Am I Killing My Company about dysfunctional business owners, and on the dangers of chasing after all customers.

Check out Work.com’s Guide to Target Marketing. It may be more than you can digest in one sitting, especially if you’re just starting out, but there’s good advice there.

Another great post from Greg Balanko-Dickson about being clear on your purpose and figuring out what it is you love to do at How Experience, Expertise Lead Me Astray, How I Recovered.

Tim Berry talks about startups, but as freelancers, pay close attention to the first type he mentions in Start ups As Apples, Oranges, and Whatever.
